Workers on the land with what looks like a carrot harvest

  • I was interested in your photograph as I am researching my background. I have a letter dated 1942 addressed to my mother at Hundreds Farm. My gradfather Herbert Watson must have worked on the farm before moving the family to Honey Farm. My mother Josephine Watson married my father Derek Parkinson. I was born at Honey Farm in October 1948. I later spent most of my childhood at Bensons Farm. I recently met a lady from Chatteris whose maiden name was Heather Brown. All the coincidences from one small photograph

  • Looks like a Charles Cole carrot washing unit in use on the right.

  • This is a picture of my Great Grandparents, we have this in our collection. The lady sitting in the middle in the big hat is my Great Grandma, Florence Brown (nee Parkinson) and the gentleman holding the horse is my Great Grandad Frederic Brown. My Great Great Grandad (his father) owned the harvester.
