  • There was a school on this site. The school was bought by my Grandfather, William Rowe who had the school pulled down and he had this current house built. He saved the wooden staircase and landing and had the house built and the original Stair/landing put back in.
    After my Grandfather passed, my mum did not want to move into the house, so it was sold. It was sold to a local farmer who had it a few years, then Gordon Cartwright purchased it and turned it into his Solicitors office.

  • I believe this is Cartwright Solicitors in Park Street. Originally owned by the Rowe family, and site of a private school. Next to swimming pool.

  • Thank you for your keen observation, Linda, The house is hidden behind trees these days so one wonders when this photo was taken! Previously the site of Westwood House School (known as “Miss Warths” to ex-students) and it is understood the original staircase was incorporated into the present building.
