Pte William Munns G/14981 7th Bn Royal Sussex Regiment Died: 27 September 1918 William Munns was born about 1895 in Chatteris. In 1911 he was a farm labourer and lived with his parents, William and Eliza, at 3 Bridge St. William enlisted in March, originally joining the Cambridgeshire Regiment (no 2512) before transferring to the Royal Sussex Regiment (G/14981). William was wounded in Autumn 1917 and again in January 1918 when he was struck by a machine gun bullet behind the left ear. He had only been back in France a few weeks when William died of wounds at a Field Ambulance on September 27th 1918. William is buried at Peronne Communal Cemetery Extension.
