The Reverend William Henry Heading Army Chaplains” Department Died: 21st November 1918 William Henry was born in 1890 to Charles and Elizabeth. Charles was a farmer living on London Road. In 1911 William was living in West View House, Anchor Street, and was recorded as a farmer’s son, working on a farm. We know that William went to the funeral of his sister in November 1918 and from there went on to London to take the examination to become an Army Chaplain. Whilst in camp he caught the flu, which turned into pneumonia and 16 days after the death of his sister he died. He is buried in the Meeks Cemetery, Chatteris. .
