  • Thank you for publishing this. I found it very interesting to read. These gentlemen were my great uncles. My grandparents lived at 68 Bridge Street. My grandfather William Hopkins was the elder brother of John and Arthur. My great-grandparents previously lived in the same house and my mother and sister were both born at the same house. My grandfather William Hopkins was a soldier in WW1 but survived and died in 1966. My Grandparents William and Susan are both buried in New St cemetery also my great grandparents William and Emma both John and Arthur are remembered on their grave. My own mother Emma has now sadly passed away in 2005 but she always talked about her uncles dying so young in the Great War.

My sister had visited John Hopkins grave in Belgium.
