Driver John William Behagg 209008 C Bty 78th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. Died: 28 September 1918 John William Behagg was eldest son of Martha Behagg. In 1901 John Behagg was 2 years old and living with his grandfather, Geroge Behagg on New St in Chatteris. At this time his mother Martha was a servant, living in Warboys. By 1911 Martha Behagg had married John Seekings and become Martha Seekings. John now lived with Martha, having changed his name from Behagg to Seekings and was a now a farm labourer. By the end of the war Martha Seekings lived at Block Fen Drove in Mepal. John enlisted in Chatteris , initially he was in the Royal Army Veterinary Corps and then became a driver for the Royal Horse Artillery and Royal Field Artillery. John was killed in action on 28th September 1918 and is buried at Fins New British Cemetery, Sorel Le Grand.
