Henry (Harry) Harlow Private 235145, 8th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment Died: 4th October 1917 Henry was born in about 1884 in Chatteris. In 1911 Henry was living in Pykes Yd, London Road with his wife of five years, Ada, and his brother John. Both Harlow men were farm labourers. Henry joined the Cambridgeshire Regiment in August 1916 and was subsequently transfered to the Lincolnshires. He went to the front at the beginning of 1917. The Lincolns attacked the German trenches (part of The Battle of Broodsiende) on 4th October but were stopped by machine gun fire. Henry was one of nearly 200 casualties and was buried nearby in Hooge Crater Cemetery, on the Menin Road.
